Ivan has been an entrepreneur for as long as he can remember. He has started, failed and succeeded many times, but believes that his calling is to be an entrepreneur.
He started his education by completing a BA Communications degree, followed by an Honors Degree in Industrial Psychology. In 2010, he became the youngest MBA graduate from the Potchefstroom Business School and won a silver medal in Organizational Behavior. He was also invited to an international business school conference in Zambia to present his mini-dissertation, which was published internationally.
In 2015 he was also selected by Investec to be part of the Young Entrepreneurs Global trip to Israel. He has served on various community-based organizations, including a Wellington Minstrel Team, a local primary school governing body and the Drakenstein Chamber of Commerce with the portfolio of Entrepreneurial Development and various others.
He has a passion for small business and community. This has led to the establishment of Labit (www.labit.co.za) in 2014, which is a business incubator based in vibrant communities. He likes the complexities of business, but believes it must seek to solve social dilemmas through solid, creative and sustainable solutions.
He has been married to his beautiful wife Lecia for 4 years and still considers convincing her to marry him his greatest achievement.
He was selected as a Brightest Young Mind delegate in 2007 and again as a Top 50 alumnus in 2015. He currently serves as the Chairmen of the Board for BYM and also manages the Sub-committee for Innovation.
