  1. Downloads: We are not responsible for any damage to your hardware or software due to anything that you might download from the Website or any other site mentioned or linked to the Website.


  1. Alumni Portal:
    • You may access and use the Website without providing any personal information.
    • However, should you be a Brightest Young Minds alumnus and wish to access the alumni portal on the Website, you need to sign in by supplying us with your name and surname, e-mail address, and your LinkedIn profile uniform resource locator. (“Sign In“).
    • Once you have Signed In, we will verify your alumnus status and, within 14 business days, send your chosen username and a password to your chosen e-mail address.
    • Once we have verified your alumnus status, you can access the alumni portal where you can, amongst others:
      • send private messages to other alumni;
      • contribute to forums on the alumni portal;
      • create events; and
      • share information on the alumni portal.
    • We reserve the right to delete or amend, in our sole discretion, any of your posts and/or events on the alumni portal.
    • You must keep your username and password confidential, and you herewith agree that any person to whom your username and/or password is disclosed is authorised to act as your agent for the purpose of using the Website. You must immediately notify us if any unauthorised third party becomes aware of that password, if there is any unauthorised use of your e-mail address, or any breach of security known to you.
    • You can update your Sign In details on the Website.
    • If you experience any problems with Signing In or updating your details, kindly e-mail
    • You must provide us with a valid e-mail address that you access regularly. We may require you to validate your account.

    • BYM is committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully in accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI Act”) and any other applicable data protection laws enacted in South Africa from time to time.
    • In general, BYM may use the information we collected to provide you with customer support, conduct market research, analyse your use of the Website, communicate with you, and to enforce the Usage Terms and Conditions.
    • By Signing In, you give BYM permission to use your personal information, as defined in the POPI Act, to provide you with details of potential professional opportunities, to market BYM events, to send BYM newsletters to you, in accordance with your instructions when you Singed In, and for any other purpose communicated to you from time to time.
    • Please note that transmitting data over the internet cannot be warranted to be 100% secure. Whilst we take all reasonable precautions to safeguard your information, we may be unable to prevent unauthorised access to such information by third parties or inadvertent disclosure of such information during transit and we are not responsible for any such access or disclosure. You acknowledge this risk when Signing In on the Website.
    • Please note that you have the right to “opt-out” or “unsubscribe” in terms of any news, promotional, or marketing e-mails we may send.
    • BYM provides access to our data information to third parties providing technical services, but only to the extent necessary to provide such services without providing any personal information.
    • BYM will not sell any information provided by you to us to any third party, except to the extent necessary to comply with applicable laws, police investigations, or legal proceedings, or where you provide your informed consent thereto.
    • If there is a sale, merger, consolidation, change in control, transfer of substantial assets, reorganisation or liquidation of BYM, then, in our sole discretion, we may transfer, sell, or assign information collected on and through the Website to one or more relevant third parties.
